Literally means Yellow mountain, coincidentally, its the same chinese character as my surname. somewhat i felt very connected to this place ... no not really, i was just pretending to be pyschic :) But i do like this place... each rock structure fired up my imagination, to climb it of course. it would have been a really exciting place to climb.
there is also a city at the basin of this place ... called huang shan city. yea ... not much imagination there with its name. Its old street is rustic but it offers some pretty tasty delicacies. no idea what i downed but it was good and i survived. The other famous item in the city is the chinese brush and ink. they were of the best quality, but of no use to me. i could not appreciate it.
nonetheless, i think huang shan national park is the highlight of my tour de china. though it was a short visit, and some misadventure getting lost, i thoroughly enjoy the scenery. The air crisp and mountains breathtaking.
weather was gorgeous, which makes me shutter happy.
unfortunately, famous national parks has its downside. just like every part of the world it attracts bad ass .. monkeys. now that i m in a less developed nation, i am amongst the most impertinent people of the planet.
remember my rants about monkeys of the yosemite? yea ... this is like a time warp back to that day.
they smoke right below the no smoking sign, oblivious to the fact that i am holding my breath pinching my nose with utter disgust. they seemed to enjoy torturing me.
